Hisarcıklıoğlu said in his statement: “The Central Bank has lowered its policy rate to 38%. We find this step to be correct and appropriate for the real sector, and we hope that it will continue in line with the decline in inflation in the coming period.
The policy rate is falling, and banks are also lowering the interest rates they pay on deposits. But lending rates are not falling at the same pace. The average commercial lending rate is 48%. The interest rate demanded from SMEs is 50-55%.
We expect our banks to reflect the decline in funding costs in lending rates in the same way and without further delay.”
