FAO Türkiye Representatives and TOBB Commodity Exchanges Directorate convened

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Representative Office in Türkiye and the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) Directorate of Exchanges came together at TOBB Twin Towers on 17 July 2025. The meeting was attended by Özcan Türkoğlu, Senior Program Coordinator and Ali Ağören, Program Specialist from FAO Turkey, and Dr. İslime Pınar Nacak, Tahir Arguç and Özüm Rıza Karaca, Director of Exchanges, on behalf of TOBB Directorate of Exchanges.​

During the meeting, risk management strategies that will enable small-scale farmers to become more resilient to problems such as climate change, market fluctuations and production risks were discussed. Drawing on FAO’s international experience in this field, models and programs that can be integrated with practices in Türkiye were evaluated and potential collaborations between TOBB and FAO were discussed.

TOBB and FAO officials stated that they will continue to work and cooperate at the technical level to achieve a more sustainable and inclusive structure of the agricultural sector in Türkiye and to strengthen market integration.
